For more than 40 years, Dr. Schumacher GmbH has been one of the leading developers and manufacturers of innovative products for disinfection, hygiene, cleaning, care and cosmetics - not only in the medical sector, but also in the non-medical and consumer sectors. The company produces both under its own brand and as a private label or OEM manufacturer for well-known branded companies, retail chains and industrial companies.

The company was founded in 1978 by chemist Dr. Henning Schumacher, a pioneer in the development of highly effective disinfectants that were low in hazardous substances and particularly user-friendly. In the 1980s, the company launched the first aldehyde- and phenol-free instrument disinfectant. Today his son Dierk and Jens Schumacher run the company. Dierk Schumacher is supported in the management by Dr. Clemens Monir and Dirk Hamenstädt. Jens Schumacher is the chairman of the advisory board.

With 1,650 employees, the medium-sized company headquartered in Malsfeld, North Hesse, produces cleaning and disinfecting agents for skin, hands, instruments and surfaces. As one of the largest manufacturers of soaked and dry wipes as well as wipe dispenser systems in Europe, Dr. Schumacher GmbH has its own production facility in Lubań, Poland. In addition, sales locations in nine countries ensure that the products are available in around 70 countries all over the world. This means that around 11,300 tons of disinfectants and up to 500 million packaging units are produced in a year.
