A cleaning process for robotic instruments is only truly effective if the instruments – including the steel wire and jaws – are kept in constant motion and these parts of the instrument are optimally exposed to ultrasound. TRISON is an innovative, modular ultrasonic bath designed for the intensive pre-cleaning of high-quality medical instruments, with a particular focus on robotic instruments.

At the heart of the TRISON is the innovative TRISON Twist motion unit, which accommodates up to four robotic instruments. Special drivers on the TRISON Twist make contact with the instruments and provide the movement of wires and jaws. The surgical instruments are rotated and controlled at the tip to ensure an effective all-round ultrasonic effect. Integrated friction clutches prevent damage to the delicate cable pullers and drive discs.

In addition, the instruments are connected to the flushing circuit of the TRISON base unit, and cleaning is supported by continuous flushing of the instruments. Contamination is extracted and directed straight to the replaceable filter, thus preventing them from re-entering the cleaning bath.

The dimensions of the TRISON ultrasonic oscillating tank have been specially designed for very long robotic instruments. The TRISON ultrasonic generator is equipped with a sweep function to minimize standing waves and ensure the most homogeneous distribution of ultrasonic intensity possible.

Individual rinsing and testing of instruments

During sonication, each instrument is activated individually for rinsing and checked for flow using a patented system. Instruments that cannot be rinsed are reliably identified and displayed on the touchscreen at the end of the process. This process monitoring, which determines, assigns and clearly displays the successful rinsability of each individual instrument, ensures greater safety during the reprocessing process.
